Burlington is seeing an economic boost in the area. Companies like Case, General Electric and the new fertilizer plant in the area have been hiring which means more people are coming to the city.
This is even impacting the school district which has seen number of English languagelearnerr students double.
Now it's impacting the housing market. Officials say there are more people in need of an apartment or house than they have right now. So now some families are looking for a permanent home.
"Just last month our hotel occupancy throughout the entire city each and every night was 80%," Mayor Shane McCampbell said. "A lot of developers, Chamber of Commerce, a lot of different entities are working together to address that problem. But again it is a good problem to have."
City leaders say diversity and additional jobs will keep improving the Burlington economy.
