Davenport city leaders celebrate the upcoming rehabilitation of an historic building while asking for resident's input on how to revitalize another neighborhood in the city.
A ribbon cutting occurred today for the Union Arcade located on Brady Street, downtown. The building will become market rate apartments on the top seven levels of the building but downtown won't be the only area to see some changes.
City leaders are now turning their attention to the West End neighborhood. Residents say they have noticed businesses leaving and buildings sitting idle for a while and they want to change that.
Residents got the opportunity to voice their opinion in a meeting. Graduate students from the University of Iowa are taking the ideas heard tonight and creating a plan. That is scheduled to be completed in May.
