QCA Communities Welcome Basketball Teams Home from States

There were big celebrations in the QCA on Sunday, as two local communities welcomed their girls basketball teams home from states.

In Annawan, they were welcoming home the girls basketball team after winning its first state championship!

The girls brought home the hardware Sunday afternoon after the Class 1A title game Saturday afternoon.

"Every kid who's every put on an Annawan uniform has dreamed about this day and to be here to support these girls and what they've done and what they've accomplished and their parents and the coaches, it's just an honor for Annawan," said one Annawan fan who attended the celebration on Sunday, David Nanninga.

There was much of the same pride in Prophetstown, Illinois, on Sunday.

That community came together to support and welcome home it's girls basketball team, after its first ever trip to state.

The team took second place honors in Class 2A.

Supporters say the Lady Prophets' success means a lot to the entire town.
