Providing support to wheelchair student-athletes is core to ABC Medicals mission. In this spirit, the company has joined University of Alabamas Adapted Athletics to present one of the largest collegiate wheelchair basketball tournaments in the nation--The ABC Medical Collegiate Classic. The ABC Medical Collegiate Classic will take place on February 21-22 in Tuscaloosa, AL, and features some of the best college mens and womens wheelchair basketball teams from across the country. Elite teams from the University of Alabama, University of Illinois, University of Texas-Arlington, University of Missouri, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and the University of Arizona will compete in the tournament. In addition, the tournament will be broadcast by ESPN 3.
ABC Medical is a national leader in supporting the growth of adaptive sports and is proud of its partnerships with the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA), the National Wheelchair Softball Association (NWSA) and the American Wheelchair Bowling Association (AWBA). The company is looking forward to supporting these amazing competitors in achieving their goals. Nick Scott is an IFBB (International Federation of Bodybuilding) professional wheelchair bodybuilder, a champion wheelchair ballroom dancer, motivational speaker, author and certified fitness trainer. Nick is also the founder of Wheelchair Athletics Foundation, an organization dedicated to expanding and improving opportunities for wheelchair athletes in all sports.
ABC Medical continues its longstanding semi-annual scholarship program, one of the largest programs of its kind in the country. ABC Medical grants scholarships to individuals seeking to attend adaptive sports events, further their education or make a difference in the world. The company is currently accepting applications for its 2014 Spring Program. All applications are due by March 31st.
