BEIJING, Dec. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- On Monday December 2, 2013, UBM delivered an entire day of high level seminars on the topic of "Using databases, Internet and social media to improve visitor and attendee experience" to a group of selected attendees from local Chinese exhibition organizing companies. Co-organized with the Trade in Services Department of Ministry of Commerce, and supported by China Convention & Exhibition Society (CCES), the event was keynoted by speeches from Madame Shu Huan, Division Director of the Department of Trade in Services for the Ministry, and Ms. Jane Risby-Rose, Executive Vice President in Charge of UBM Global Events Learning Initiatives, headquartered in London.
UBM brought in other key experts from outside the mainland including Mr. Simon Carless, EVP, UBM Technology - Game Network, Black Hat from UBM's San Francisco office who spoke about using the community website to increase event engagement and recruitment and showed some key techniques for developing a deeper relationship with their exhibition and conference visitors through continuous and deep online engagement; and Mr. Ben Veechai, Regional Director International Marketing from UBM Asia headquarters office in Hong Kong who shared the knowledge of how to Understand web analytics for improved visitor promotions and marketing.
UBM's senior managers from the mainland were also invited to share their learnings. Mr. Jing Li, Business Development Director from PRN China discussed the intricacies involved in delivering and monitoring a company's message in the social media environment and Ms. Gong Kangkang, General Manager of UBM Hangzhou, shared her experiences in internationalizing a Chinese exhibition brand with active application of new social media. Finally Mr. Huang Biao, president of LINGTONG Exhibition Co., Ltd. gave a lecture on how the Chinese exhibition industry can become more sustainable, more environmentally friendly and create less waste.
Attendees from selected companies came to Beijing from all over China to attend the seminar that was offered at no charge; and they came from 17 provinces and municipalities including Beijing, Chongqing, Shanxi, Jilin, Shandong, Guangxi, Shanghai, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Hunan, Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Sichuan, Hebei, Shaanxi, Jiangsu, and Ningxia.
