Governor Quinn made an appearance in the Quad Cities area to help announce major upgrades to a facility in Moline.
$4 million dollars will go to the I-Wireless Center for improvements. The funding will come from the state's "Jobs Now" program.
The money will expand the concourse, fund new lower bowl seating and make upgrades to the lights, roof, floor, plumbing and climate control system. Some officials say the I-Wireless center has been an economic boom for the Quad Cities and it makes sense to put money into keeping it up.
"When they come to our building, they will be in a first class facility that's in good shape," said Scott Mullen, Executive Director of the I-Wireless Center.
The construction project is going to mean some construction jobs for the area. No word on when it will start yet.
