It was a fixture in downtown Davenport for years and now "Shenanigan's" is about to re-open.
But it's doing that only with a few changes and a close look by aldermen at the bar's business plan.
The new owner is actually the one who opened the pub years ago but between now and then he sold it. In that time city leaders say there were issues of concern.
Police responded to calls there more often than many would have liked. New owner Don Davison says he plans to cater to the downtown business crowd, as well as Palmer and Ambrose students, serving lunch and dinner.
He says he's investing in Shenanigan's and the city.
"For the people that have come her in last 5 years and got a bad taste of it, the name's still gonna be Shenanigans because everybody knows where it is but it's an all new look, all new facelift, all new staff, all new crowd," said Davison. "So come on down, try it out again.">
City leaders say he addressed their concerns and showed them a viable business plan so Aldermen approved a liquor license for Shenanigan's.
Davison says opening day will be Halloween, just in time for parade traffic.
