Empty buildings in part of Davenport have some businesses in that area considering making a move.
Along Brady Street between Kimberly and 46th Street some drivers may notice signs advertising for companies to come a fill vacant buildings.
Over the years restaurants like Chi Chi's, Lone Star and Royal Wok have left the area. Some businesses that are still there like Carpetland and the Salvation Army say they haven't taken a dive in business because of all the vacancies but they would like to see new development to help revive the area.
"I think there's a lot of potential here if we can get some good quality business people, have maybe city hall and the chamber of commerce all work together," said Eric Langan, President and CEO of Carpetland USA. "I think Brady Street can still be a very dominant retail place."
City officials say they are offering tax incentives to attract new development to the area.
