Students Battle Rising Temperatures At School

Posted: Updated:

Rising temperatures made it hard for some students to stay in class.
In the East Moline School District, many of the buildings do not have air conditioning, but some are worried the loss of class time could affect learning.

"We can make up for that, the big thing is we have to look at a long range plan of climate controlling our buildings and how we can accomplish that," said superintendent Kristin Humphries.

A long term plan for climate control could cost the district more than $7 million.
In spite of budget cuts from the state, the superintendent says the district is working on a solution and hopes it will happen in the next few years.
Tomorrow's temperatures will be similar to today and students will not have class tomorrow.
