About 100 dogs from around the area got to splash around in Bettendorf's Splash Landing Aquatic Center on Saturday.
This is the second year the city has held Doggy Splash.
Proceeds from the event go toward buying new amenities for the Crow Creek Dog Park, including things like new benches, athletic equipment and lighting.
City staffers say they expect to raise about $700 this weekend, all thanks to a team of volunteers on the Bettendorf Dog Park Committee who organized this event.
"Dog owners are very passionate about their dogs. They love their dogs and they'll go to very long ends to make them happy and put on things like this," said Bettendorf Director of Parks and Recreation Steve Grimes.
Grimes says the city plans to hold the event every year.
He says it's a good way to get one last use out of the pool before it's drained.
The next event to raise money for the dog park,"Dogtoberfest", is coming up in a few weeks.
