City leaders and local organizations joined together to carry on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Gathering at Lafayette Park, Quad Citians were reminded of King's "I Have A Dream Speech" and how much the nation has progressed. A former Palmer College professor shares his experience at the march 50 years ago.
"It made you feel uplifted, it made you feel enthusiastic about being an American," said Dr. Henry Brockington. "It made you feel enthusiastic about doing the work that needed to be done."
Although equality among everyone has progressed some say there is still work to be done.
