Unhealthy snacks and possibly chocolate milk could go away in Illinois daycares.
The state is considering proposals to remove those items and ban young children from watching television. Other proposals request children go outside at least twice a day and others prohibit day care providers from giving children food for good behavior.
A local daycare provider say some of the ideas are good but others could be hard to enforce.
"That's a really hard thing for the kids because not that we are all about TV but what we did was use educational videos," said Keonia Upchurch, director of Moline Kids Campus. "We incorporate those it our lesson plans and to take that away, we have to find a new trick."
The proposals are aimed to teach children healthy eating habits. A spokesperson for family services say it may not happen for another 6 to 9 months.
