Heat Wave Prompts Early School Dismissals

As of the time of this posting, the following QCA school districts have announced plans for early dismissals because of the heat:

Wapello Community Schools will be dismissing at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 26 and Tuesday, August 27.

Central Community Schools - DeWitt, Winfield-Mt. Union, Easton Valley, Tipton, Delwood, and Stockton Schools will also have a 2 Hour Early Dismissal on Monday.

Calamus-Wheatland Schools and St. Joseph's School - DeWitt are going to have a 2 Hour Early Dismissal and no PM Preschool Monday.

Andrew Community Schools and Maquoketa Schools will both be letting students out at 1:30 P.M. on Monday.

Midland Community Schools have announced plans to release students 2 1/4 hours early on Monday.

It's going to be hot, hot, hot! Fox 18 Meteorologist Erik Maitland says highs will be in the mid 90s with Heat Advisories in effect.
