The first day of class today at the newly consolidated Easton Valley School District.
Students from Preston and East Central Schools come together to form the new district but it was a tough road getting here.
The consolidation was a major battle last year and the case was even heard in the state's Supreme Court. The former Preston Trojans and the East Central Raiders are as of today the Easton Valley Riverhawks and last year's tension seems to be a thing of the past.
"It's really exciting," said Easton Valley senior Shelby Reader. "We get to be the first class to graduate from here."
The district spent roughly $50-thousand from the local options sales tax fund to upgrade the schools and change logos.
