One woman was taken to the hospital after she was rescued from a burning home in Moline on Saturday afternoon.

The fire broke out just after 3 p.m. in the 1900 block of Sixth Avenue.

The Moline, Rock Island, and Rock Island Arsenal Fire Departments responded to the scene after a call came in that one person was trapped inside.

They went to work knocking down the blaze and getting the woman inside - out.

"Called in by the resident; she was transported to the hospital; we do not have a condition report on her at this time," Captain Clair Pearson, of the Moline Fire Department, said.

"She was removed from an upstairs window. There was heavy fire inside the structure," he recounted.

Responding crews say you could see the smoke from blocks away.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
