Illinois lawmakers have 8 days to come up with a pension reform plan that Governor Quinn approves and today Quinn made a stop in Rock Island to discuss the issue with the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce.
"The fundamental principles it has to erase the liability," Quinn said.
Governor Quinn emphasized that pension reform would help drive the economy forward.
He explained that the two plans that passed in the House and Senate would probably not go forward because they do not eliminate liability.
He's still putting pressure on the conference committee to come with a plan that cancels liability by the July 9th deadline.
