A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 sent a handful of drivers to the hospital Sunday, and left others sitting in traffic for more than three hours.
The accident happened just before 1:30 p.m. near LeClaire.
Police say, somehow, a car heading east slowed down or cut-off a semi, leading to a pile-up involving three other vehicles.
Police shut down the east bound lanes and one westbound because of construction to sort it all out. I-80 was not completely reopened until after 5 p.m.
In all, six people were transported to area hospitals. One of them, with serious injuries, had to be transported by Med Force.
"It's amazing; The car was under the trailer. The driver - he's nothing. It's just amazing. He was under the car and he's the one who don't have no injuries and I told the guy, "This is not your day today,'" one witness, Enrique Roman, told us.
Investigators are still working to determine exactly what happened.
