It was a special outing with dad for many families in honor of Father's Day.
Sunday marked the 29th annual "Ride the River" and area families turned out in force.
Starting at Davenport's freight house, they had the choice to bike 20 or 60 miles -- along riverfronts in both Iowa and Illinois.
While official numbers aren't in, organizers say turnout was good.
"I think we probably had 1,000 people here and that was great. It was just beautiful weather. People started coming out because of the sun coming out," Kathy Wine, Executive Director of River Action, said.
Money raised by this event goes to River Action, an organization dedicated to making the riverfront a healthful and livable environment for everyone.
