Arrests Made After Sterling Business Break-In

Two men have been arrested after a break-in at a Sterling business.

Police say they were called to the East End Shell gas station on Lincolnway Friday morning, where they found a broken glass door.

Surveillance video showed a man entering the store just before 1:30 a.m. and leaving with cash.

Officers were given a lead on the suspect's location in Rock Falls, and tell us that as they were talking to a resident in the 14-hundred block of 10th Avenue, the suspect jumped from a window and took off.

Police caught him in the 15-hundred block of 8th Avenue.

They tell us 22-year-old Derrick Stone was arrested on two outstanding warrants.

Back at the 10th Avenue home, 19-year-old Anthony Menchaca was arrested for obstructing justice.

Police continue to investigate the gas station burglary and say additional charges are pending.
