Residents living in Fulton could feel a little bit safer when severe weather happens now that the city has improved their weather sirens.
Authorities placed a new siren in the center of the city, making the warning accessible for all Fulton residents. Before the siren was located at the downtown fire station which did not reach many residents.
"We've had several instances where we've had bad weather coming in and we didn't know what to do," resident Christa Curley said.
With the new siren, authorities can get the word out faster by allowing the siren to be activated from the fire station, police station or police squad car.
Also the city is putting together a communication system that would notify residents through text or phone calls.
