Possible Davenport Cheating Scandal

Posted: Updated:

Davenport school administrators are investigating a possible cheating scandal at Madison Elementary.

School officials found changed answers on the State's math and reading test scores for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students.
Officials found on average a reading test score from Madison has seven to 20 changed answers with 75% of the new answers being correct.
At other schools there was only one changed answer, but school officials are not sure who could helped the students to cheat.

"I would like to know who did this so we can put that to rest and the cloud will be off of everyone else," Superintendent of Davenport Community Schools, Dr. Art Tate said.

The Superintendent does not believe the students are responsible for the cheating. The students will have to re-take the test next week under the District's watch.
