Low Supplies In Area Stores

Davenport crews are also working to hold back the water as public works staffers spent today putting up HESCO barriers downtown.

These steel mesh baskets filled with thousands of pounds of sand have held back rising floodwaters in years past but of course this year, all the rain we've seen is having an impact as well.

It's put water in a lot of basements and has homeowners flooding area stores.

"We had a full shelf this morning," Hayman's Ace Hardware, Mark Hayman said. "We're getting really low, so we got an emergency shipment in the shelves were full and hour ago, they're going quick."

He tells us he sold about 30 sump pumps today and 10 shop vacs.

We heard the same thing at other stores as well, like K and K in Bettendorf and Lowes in Davenport. Stores are selling out and having to order in emergency shipments.
