One-hundred seventy-five Arsenal employees, in different commands, are losing their jobs.
Some will work until the end of their term but for others in the joint manufacturing and technology center, today is their last day.
"News keeps breaking all the time, we're just curious as to when we're going to get some stability and things will get back to normal," President of American Federation of Government Employees Local 15, Steve Beck said.
Arsenal officials say the sequestration is part of the blame but the release of JMTC workers "is a special case."
Temporary and term employees were released due to a decline in workload stemming from the draw down in Iraq and Afghanistan.
