The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission has renewed Rhythm City's operating license.
The annual renewal was up for debate at today's commission meeting, which members from the Riverboat Development Authority and city leaders attended.
A recent move by the RDA to look for a private developer put the city's plans to buy the casino on hold for now, and many expected to the gaming board to have questions about the change of plans.
However, the casino's license was renewed without any comment.
"There's obviously a lot of things going on and we're far from making any decisions," chair of the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission Jeff Lamberti said. "We don't have anything before us and it didn't seem appropriate to ask a lot of questions about that."
The next step for the casino is the RDA is working on forming a sub-committee.
That group will search for a private developer and the RDA is also working with Rhythm City's parent company, Isle of Capri, for permission to speak with potential developers.
