Illinois Voting To Move Polling Places From Schools
Schools could no longer be a polling place for voters in Illinois.
Some legislators along with law enforcement leaders want to eliminate voting at public or private schools.
Lawmakers said it is not safe for members of public to be able to roam on school campus.
"We're talking about hundreds if not thousands of people who come on to school grounds and going into school buildings and potentially coming into contact with students and It's an unnecessary risk," Representative Jack Franks said.
The legislation would require school districts to make separate buildings available as polling places.
