Almost 150 lots of jewelry belonging to former Dixon Comptroller Rita Crundwell were on the auction block Saturday.
Their total fetching price: $258,375.
The highest bid in this auction was on a diamond horseshoe ring, which went for $12,300.
The sale in Texas was part of the effort to recover some of the $53 Million Crundwell admittedly stole from taxpayers over her years on the job.
As of last week, when Crundwell was sentenced to just under 20 years in prison for wire fraud, US Marshals had $10.5 million in the bank from liquidating her assets.
Dixon could see proceeds in a few months, but after expenses and claims, it is estimated that the city will only get about $10 million total back.
Crundwell was sentenced in federal court last week. She still faces 60 counts of felony theft from the state.
