Uninsured In Illinois May Soon Shop For Health Insurance

Uninsured Illinois residents may be able to shop for health insurance by October f1st.

The government approved the state proposal to provide a health insurance marketplace for thousands of residents.
     
There are 6 conditions the state must meet to keep the government's approval.

Governor Quinn received the letter today.

"It's a fundamental right. Not a privilege," Governor Pat Quinn said. "It's a right. We are folks who believe in taking care of our neighbors."

The state must sign a memorandum stating they understand the federal government will monitor and approve health plans by March 1st.
