The City of Galesburg has started notifying residents and small businesses about its energy aggregation program with Homefield Energy.
Voters gave the city the okay to buy electricity at a lower rate and sell it to you at a discount.
If you choose to be a part of energy aggregation, you don't have to do anything.
However, if you opt out, you will send back an enclosed card. During this time you need to be aware of scams. That's why the city says if anyone calls and asks for information to sign up for the program, don't.
The only notification you will receive is a letter with the city logo on it.
