Iowa Girl Scouts may not get the experience on camping at several sites in the region if a recommendation is approved.
The council board of directors will review whether to sell four camps sites including Camp Conestoga in Scott County.
There has been a decline in campsite usage and a Girl Scout official said the girls are wanting updated facilities.
"They're really looking for more a cabin setting, indoor facilities, climate control and really they still want access to the internet." Girl Scouts of Easter Iowa and Western Illinois Diane Nelson said.
The sale of the property will make it possible for the organization to build a new outdoor learning center for the girls.
