Many area main roads are clear as of Wednesday night, but looks can be deceiving in some spots. Into the evening a re-freeze of the wet areas is a concern.
Also, blowing snow has been causing some drivers problems. Rock Island County Sheriff's deputies responded to several accidents and vehicles in the ditch throughout the afternoon and evening Wednesday. Officials say conditions can change rapidly, causing drivers to lose control.
"It may seem like it's dry and there's no harm out there and then you get a spot where it's going to be completely snow packed and slick," said Sgt. Mathew Desmyter.
Especially roads that are not treated are likely going to be slick so emergency crews urge caution still tonight and into the morning.
