Dozens of jobs may be added to the Quad City area after one of the largest shipping companies in the world teams up with a local company.
Maersk Line will use Adrian Carriers in Milan to store it's containers from shipments.
Currently, Adrian Carriers may see about 100,000 trucks importing and exporting goods like grain and animal feed per year but with the help of Maersk, the depot could see an increase of several thousands more trucks.
New hires will have to help out with the extra business.
"It's hard to say what it will increase, it will add jobs for sure because the containers will be repaired and stored here," President and Owner of Adrian Carriers Gary Adrian said.
The new business could also cut down on carbon emission from fuel by ten million pounds per year and lower shipping cost, which may decrease cost on goods for consumers.
