While many are praising Mother Nature for the mild winter the QCA has seen so far, others are not so happy.
Several Quad Cities snow removal businesses have seen their profits plummet from their normal winter income.
This is due to the simple fact that, for most of this winter, there has been very little for them to do.
For bigger businesses, it can be easier to absorb the loss. But for smaller ones, it can be a much more difficult situation for not just the owners to deal with, but the employees as well:
"At this point I've had to lay off every person I have, from the office all the way down to the guy that washes the trucks," said Ken Countryman, who owns a small snow removal business in Moline, Ill.
Countryman says he hopes to be able to hire back all of his employees as soon as possible.
