Underage drinking and drug use is down in Clinton County according to the gateway impact coalition.
Underage drinking is down 22 percent since 2002.
Cocaine use among high schoolers is down ten percent since 2005.
The gateway impact coalition runs an anti-drug program for middle schoolers. The group also works with the police to target problems early.
"Clinton has really been a pioneer and leader to address this issue with the take-back initiatives and lock bag initiative, and also the communication trying to get the word out," Director of Governor's Office of Drug Control Steven Lukan said.
Clinton County has not seen a big drop in marijuana and prescription drugs usage but the coalition and the county is aware they still have work to do.
