Some local Quad Citians got in on the celebrations with a ball of their own.
Hundreds of people turned out for tonight's Inaugural Ball at the Rivercenter in Davenport.
Many of them were volunteers for Obama's latest Presidential Campaign.
Partiers enjoyed dinner, music and dancing saying they had a lot to celebrate.
"It about celebrating Democracy, each and every one of us, what the country needs and a respect for each and everyone as a whole," Obama campaign volunteer Wilhelmenia Clay said.
The ball ran until midnight and all proceeds from the ticket sales will go to Churches United Shelter for homeless women.
