
Helping those who have served our country as part of a national day of service on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Several local organizations teamed up for What's My Mission Now? - a career development workshop for military veterans.
The event included panel discussion on transitioning from military to civilian life. Veterans could also get résumé tips and reviews, something many former service members say can be a big part in the struggle to find work.
"It's hard to learn what employers interests are. Employers don't like the very long resume, they like to keep it short. here we're learning how to right resumes to catch an employers eye," said Cody Wells, an Air Force veteran.
The workshop, put on by Davenport Volunteer Connection, also offered information on educational benefits for veterans and resources from organizations like the American Red Cross.
