It was a family reunion 65 years in the making, as Davenport resident Clifford Boyson met his long-lost sister face-to-face for the first time Saturday.
The first thing Boyson did when the meeting finally came was to give his sister, Betty Billadeau, a great big hug.
The two were sent to different foster homes as small children, growing up in Chicago.
They searched for one another over the years, but it wasn't until eight-year-old Eddie Hanzelin searched for Betty on Facebook that the two were able to finally meet.
Hanzelin, who is a family-friend of Boyson, said he just wanted to help.
Meanwhile, the now-reunited siblings say they could not be more grateful:
"He is already calling me sis, so that makes me feel good," Billadeau said.
"I am excited as can be, I just have no words," said Boyson.
Boyson also got to meet his niece and her daughter. His new-found family members even gave him a suitcase so he can visit.
They also gave young Eddie a college scholarship as a thank you.
