All day, people gathered at ground zero to mark the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The names of nearly 3,000 victims were read following a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m., which is when the first plane hit the World Trade Center.
Here in the Quad Cities, United Neighbors held a candlelight vigil to remember the victims, their families, and the police officers and firefighters who died on this day. As the years pass, organizers say it's even more important to remember.
